Purpose, Mindset and Personal Charter

Reflection

I joined HIP Dev because I need mentorship to upgrade my skill set, become a better team player, and get the practical business development support and network to scale Tahsma Healthcare from validation to growth. Working through this exercise helped me recognize that I move quickly from information to action and skip sitting with perspectives that challenge me, and that the real gap in my thinking is between what I've considered and what I've actually tested. I want to become an innovative thinker who listens with full presence, asks clarifying questions to understand rather than defend, tests assumptions early, and adapts when evidence contradicts what I hoped to find. My Charter commits me to specific behaviours: listening fully when someone offers a different perspective, paraphrasing what I heard, checking my assumptions before responding, and actively seeking what might disprove my position. The behaviour I most want to practise is distinguishing between thinking I've covered everything and actually testing enough to know. This coming week, I'll use my Charter in a meeting with directors and founders about next steps, where I'll practise listening before speaking, holding assumptions lightly, framing ideas as hypotheses, and pausing before responding. I'll know I'm making progress if I speak less and listen more, ask genuine clarifying questions, frame ideas as hypotheses, pause before responding when challenged, and notice if others comment on my listening or questioning.
