Purpose, Mindset and Personal Charter
Reflection
I joined HIP Dev because I'm seeking growth, mentorship, and potential partnerships by learning from experienced entrepreneurs as I move through the ideation stage. Through this exercise, I recognized that I tend to rush to answer before understanding what is being said, and I often assume I understand by putting myself in my potential customers' shoes rather than seeking clarity from them directly. The innovative thinker I want to become is someone who asks for clarity when confused, seeks help from people who know more, listens attentively before responding, and takes time to think rather than rushing to solutions. My Charter commits me to specific behaviours like rephrasing what others say to confirm my understanding, conducting more research rather than relying on assumptions, and treating evidence that challenges my position seriously by asking a second person to judge if my evidence is sufficient. The behaviour I most want to practise is setting reminders to reread my charter to avoid jumping to solutions. I plan to use this during my presentation because I tend to want to answer before understanding what is being said. I will know this is working when I listen to others' thoughts, ask for time to think, ask why questions, and try to improve based on what I learn.
